Racer Spotlight: Avarie Megee & Wait What?

At just 18 and under, Avarie Megee has been perfect in the MiniBoat class. Meet the young driver behind M-18 Wait What? and her march toward a championship.

Waretown, NJ — In a sport dominated by veteran racers, Avarie Megee has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in JSBR. Driving M-18 Wait What? out of Waretown, Megee has won every race in the 18 & Under Mini class through the first half of the 2026 season.

Racing a MiniBoat with a stock 25hp–35hp outboard, Megee has demonstrated remarkable consistency and racecraft. The MiniBoat class may feature smaller engines, but the racing is every bit as intense — tight packs, draft battles, and split-second decisions define every heat.

"I grew up watching these races from the shore," Megee says. "Getting to compete on the same water I grew up around means everything. The competition in the Mini class is getting better every race, so I can’t take anything for granted."

With her purple team colors and aggressive starts, Wait What? has become a fan favorite. As the second half of the season unfolds, Megee sits atop the 18 & Under Mini standings and firmly in the overall High Points Championship conversation.
